fix: check field exists in column groups before reading from loon manifest (#46816)
Related to #44956

Before reading field data from loon manifest, check if the field exists
in column groups first. If the field does not exist, return an empty
result instead of proceeding with the read operation.

This is a workaround until loon natively supports returning null for
non-existent fields.

fix: Include fieldID in raw data cleanup to prevent delete other fields (#46688)
issue: #46687

<!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai
-->
- Core invariant: raw-data cleanup must be scoped to (segment_id,
field_id) so deleting temporary raw files for one field never removes
raw files for other fields in the same segment (prevents cross-field
deletion during index builds).
- Root cause and fix (bug): VectorDiskIndex::Build() and
BuildWithDataset() called RemoveDir on the segment-level path; this
removed rawdata/{segment_id}/. The fix changes both calls to remove
storage::GenFieldRawDataPathPrefix(local_chunk_manager, segment_id,
field_id) instead, limiting cleanup to rawdata/{segment_id}_{field_id}/
(field-scoped).
- Logic removed/simplified: the old helper GetSegmentRawDataPathPrefix
was removed and callers were switched to GenFieldRawDataPathPrefix;
cleanup logic is simplified from segment-level to field-level path
generation and removal, eliminating redundant broad deletions.
- Why this does NOT cause data loss or regress behavior: the change
narrows RemoveDir() to the exact field path used when caching raw data
and offsets earlier in Build (offsets_path and CacheRawDataToDisk
produce field-scoped local paths). Build still writes/reads offsets and
raw data from GenFieldRawDataPathPrefix(...) and then removes that same
prefix after successful index.Build(); therefore only temporary files
for the built field are deleted and other fields’ raw files under the
same segment are preserved. This fixes issue #46687 by preventing
accidental deletion of other fields’ raw data.

enhance: support manifest-based index building with Loon FFI reader (#45726)
This PR adds support for reading data from StorageV2 using manifest
files and the Loon FFI interface during index building, providing an
alternative to the traditional segment insert files approach.

Key changes:

Core C++ changes:
- Add SEGMENT_MANIFEST_KEY and LOON_FFI_PROPERTIES_KEY constants for
manifest handling
- Extend FileManagerContext to carry loon_ffi_properties for FFI
operations
- Update index_c.cpp to pass manifest and loon properties to file
managers for all index types (vector, JSON key, text)
- Implement GetFieldDatasFromManifest() in Util.cpp using Arrow C Stream
interface:
  * Create Arrow schema from field metadata
  * Initialize FFI reader with manifest content and storage properties
  * Import record batches from C data interface
  * Convert to FieldData for index building
- Update DiskFileManagerImpl and MemFileManagerImpl to support
manifest-based data reading with fallback to traditional paths

Loon FFI utilities (internal/core/src/storage/loon_ffi/):
- Add ToCStorageConfig() to convert StorageConfig to C-compatible
structure
- Implement GetManifest() to parse manifest JSON and retrieve column
groups via FFI
- Enhance MakePropertiesFromStorageConfig() integration

Storage V2 integration:
- Update milvus-storage dependency from 0883026 to 302143c for latest
FFI support

Protobuf changes:
- Add manifest field to BuildIndexInfo for passing manifest path to C++
layer

Configuration:
- Add common.storageV2.useLoonFFI config option (default: false) for
feature toggle

This change is part of issue #44956 to integrate the StorageV2 FFI
interface as the unified storage layer. The implementation maintains
backward compatibility by checking for manifest presence and falling
back to existing segment insert files approach when manifest is not
provided.

feat: Geospatial Data Type and GIS Function support for milvus (#44547)
issue: #43427

This pr's main goal is merge #37417 to milvus 2.5 without conflicts.

# Main Goals

1. Create and describe collections with geospatial type
2. Insert geospatial data into the insert binlog
3. Load segments containing geospatial data into memory
4. Enable query and search can display geospatial data
5. Support using GIS funtions like ST_EQUALS in query
6. Support R-Tree index for geometry type

# Solution

1. **Add Type**: Modify the Milvus core by adding a Geospatial type in
both the C++ and Go code layers, defining the Geospatial data structure
and the corresponding interfaces.
2. **Dependency Libraries**: Introduce necessary geospatial data
processing libraries. In the C++ source code, use Conan package
management to include the GDAL library. In the Go source code, add the
go-geom library to the go.mod file.
3. **Protocol Interface**: Revise the Milvus protocol to provide
mechanisms for Geospatial message serialization and deserialization.
4. **Data Pipeline**: Facilitate interaction between the client and
proxy using the WKT format for geospatial data. The proxy will convert
all data into WKB format for downstream processing, providing column
data interfaces, segment encapsulation, segment loading, payload
writing, and cache block management.
5. **Query Operators**: Implement simple display and support for filter
queries. Initially, focus on filtering based on spatial relationships
for a single column of geospatial literal values, providing parsing and
execution for query expressions.Now only support brutal search
7. **Client Modification**: Enable the client to handle user input for
geospatial data and facilitate end-to-end testing.Check the modification
in pymilvus.

fix: [StorageV2] fill the correct group chunk into cell (#43486)
The root cause of the issue lies in the fact that when a sealed segment
contains multiple row groups, the get_cells function may receive
unordered cids. This can result in row groups being written into
incorrect cells during data retrieval.

Previously, this issue was hard to reproduce because the old Storage V2
writer had a bug that caused it to write row groups larger than 1MB.
These large row groups could lead to uncontrolled memory usage and
eventually an OOM (Out of Memory) error. Additionally, compaction
typically produced a single large row group, which avoided the incorrect
cell-filling issue during query execution.

feat: optimize Like query with n-gram (#41803)
Ref #42053

This is the first PR for optimizing `LIKE` with ngram inverted index.
Now, only VARCHAR data type is supported and only InnerMatch LIKE
(%xxx%) query is supported.

How to use it:
```
milvus_client = MilvusClient("http://localhost:19530")
schema = milvus_client.create_schema()
...
schema.add_field("content_ngram", DataType.VARCHAR, max_length=10000)
...
index_params = milvus_client.prepare_index_params()
index_params.add_index(field_name="content_ngram", index_type="NGRAM", index_name="ngram_index", min_gram=2, max_gram=3)
milvus_client.create_collection(COLLECTION_NAME, ...)
```

min_gram and max_gram controls how we tokenize the documents. For
example, for min_gram=2 and max_gram=4, we will tokenize each document
with 2-gram, 3-gram and 4-gram.

feat: Add json flat index (#39917)
issue: https://github.com/milvus-io/milvus/issues/35528

This PR introduces a JSON flat index that allows indexing JSON fields
and dynamic fields in the same way as other field types.

In a previous PR (#36750), we implemented a JSON index that requires
specifying a JSON path and casting a type. The only distinction lies in
the json_cast_type parameter. When json_cast_type is set to JSON type,
Milvus automatically creates a JSON flat index.

For details on how Tantivy interprets JSON data, refer to the [tantivy
documentation](https://github.com/quickwit-oss/tantivy/blob/main/doc/src/json.md#pitfalls-limitation-and-corner-cases).

Limitations
Array handling: Arrays do not function as nested objects. See the
[limitations
section](https://github.com/quickwit-oss/tantivy/blob/main/doc/src/json.md#arrays-do-not-work-like-nested-object)
for more details.

fix: [StorageV2][AddField] Handle lack binlog rows in storage v2 (#42186)
Related to #39173 #39718

In storage v2, the `lack_bin_rows` cannot be used since field id is not
column group id, which will not be matched forever.
